And Round two of the competition. I know this isn't perfect. I actually wanted to do sequentials for this round because I worked nine hour days every day through the deadline. I wanted to see if I could do three pages in the time I had. I did not sleep much. Color inconsistencies are do to PJ being down for me when I started coloring page one. I didn't have reference for Inkdrops colors. Then I didn't have time to fix it.

Regardless, I'm pretty proud of myself for getting all the way through colors and letters in so little time.

Done for a contest with a one week deadline. Actually finished in two days because of work schedule. The angles aren't incredibly dynamic, but this was a conscious decision on my part as I wanted it to have an 80's fighting game vibe. I felt like a lot of crazy angles would have detracted from that feel.

Sketches

I'm trying to make my digital work look more like traditional pencil. I think it will help going forward with Dead kittens.

Getting there

Another update. Creature nearly done. Now I just need to finish up the rider and background. Woohoo.

More progress. I love the results I get working this way, but there is a part of me that prefers my comic style. I like being able to finish a piece of art and move on to the next. This 1-2 weeks per piece thing drives me batty. However, I'm building a portfolio here, so I want to show capability.

It sucks first

I decided to upload this sketch, not because it's good, but because it's rather bad. I'm taking this and digitally painting it in photoshop. Once it's finished I hope it will be great. I'll let you be the judge of that.

And yes, a lot of my sketches are done at work in between customers. It keeps me sane. Well... It keeps me sane adjacent anyways.

Concept for a competition on PencilJack.com. Had some fun with this one. Should see more Illustrations of this guy next month.

Hellboy colored.

Hellboy - WIP

Something I'm working on to keep the blood flowing to my hands.

For those of you who have been following "Dead Kittens", I have started this blog/portfolio to keep people updated on my creative endeavors, since I will no longer be updating the former blog. Dead Kittens is now in the inking stage, being undertaken by the insanely talented Howard Simpson, and as such I won't be posting any more Dead Kittens related images until the comic gets picked up.

Hope everyone enjoys the new format!
